Mr Yu Jeat Chong
Mr Yu Jeat Chong is currently a locum consultant ophthalmologist in medical retina and inflammatory eye disease based at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre (BMEC). His subspecialty training includes ocular surface diseases at BMEC, a tertiary care service specialising in the management of severe ocular surface diseases.
He graduated from Imperial College London with a first class honours in Global Health, and distinctions in clinical practice and clinical sciences for his medical degree. He has a masters in Health Informatics from City University London and is a member of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. He was a lecturer for the University College London Bioscience and Entrepreneurship MSc and the PG Cert in Telemedicine. His peer reviewed publications include a wide range of subjects including topical ocular therapies, inflammatory eye disease, digital technologies, electronic health records and satellite monitoring of drinking water salinity.
Outside his clinical work, he is currently a masters student in creative writing at Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge, working on his dissertation on the pneumonic plague in China. During his leisure time, he enjoys long walks, travelling, good food and the occasional wine.
