‘For me, the most important part of the patient journey is for the service user to feel safe and comfortable in our care. A large part of this is communication and ensuring my patients understand the tests being performed is always my first priority. Taking time to answer questions throughout and checking my patient’s understanding and consent is of the highest importance.’

Sukhdeep Kaur

Sukhi is a home-grown talent at Modality LLP. After working for our patient administration team, Sukhi approached the ophthalmology service eager for a new challenge. At Modality LLP we understand that entheusiasm and diligence should be nurtured and are always keen to invest in team members who show an interest in developing new skills. In April 2023, Sukhi joined the ophthalmology team permanently.

It is important that our ophthalmic technicians have a good grounding and understanding of ocular anatomy, as well as the practical application for any clinical diagnostics they perform. As part of her training, Sukhi has completed the Gloucester Retinal Education Group ocular anatomy course and the Moorfields Ophthalmic Technicians Introduction course. Like all of our core clinical team, she has also completed the Visualise Sight Loss Champion course.
